 When you enter the Village, you will immediatly notice two very prominent
features on our homes - Front Porches and Alleys. Attached garages are positioned
along an alley in the rear of the homes. Front porches are a real FUN part of the
neighborhood and garages are no longer an eyesore. Many residents have a porch swing that
attracts kids of all ages. It's a great place to relax on summer evenings and chat
with neighbors as they stroll past.
There are three basic styles of homes in the neighborhood, the
bungalow, two story traditional and cape cod or story and 1/2. Picket fences are
encouraged as well as landscaping in the front of the homes playing a major role in
establishing the Classic Neighborhood feel.
The city of Brandon has constructed a new neighborhood park in the
village. It's designed for children and families to just gather, visit and relax.
TALLGRASS VILLAGE was started in the Fall of 1998 and is about to open the second
addition. The alleys are hard surfaced with all services - utilities, mail boxes, garbage
pick up located there, in the rear of the homes. This permits a clean looking uncluttered
streetscape, adding to the appeal of your home. There are protective covenants that allow
you to live in the security of knowing what is allowed and is not allowed within the
neighborhood but are not so restrictive so as to interfere with your lifestyle.

Builder, New Urban News, and the local St. Joseph Missouri Newspaper. The Village has also
received local publicity from the Argus Leader, KELO and KDLT television. We are presently
in cooperation with the local power utility and phone/cable provider to provide the latest
in energy conservation methods as well as technical advances in our homes.
